This will let you import from multiple folders and subfolders in a single operation, which you might find useful. You can also use Tools > Database > Catalog Files, set up one or more folders and optionally their subfolders, check "Face Data", select Lightroom or Picasa Face Data, and click Start. I don't know exactly how you organize your photos, but if you have them in lots of folders, it can be a pain to browse to each individual folder to import the face data. This will try to import embedded Picasa face data from all currently-selected images. Otherwise I am not sure what you are referring to as re-embedding.įrom your description, I think you were probably in Manage mode, using the command Tools > Face Detection > Import Lightroom or Picasa Face Data. By re-embeded you mean to rerun the facial recognition on Picasa, then yes I have done that. However there are many that I have edited including modifying EXIF, Orientation and dimensions. Most of the over 16,000 images have not been altered. #PICASA ALBUMS UPDATE#I will post an update to the method I used next time I am at the system where I have ACDSee installed. Now when I select the Picasa import selection if does not do anything it's as if I didn't even make a selection. ![]() It seemed to churn for a while the first time I ran it and I actually found an entry in my ACDSee catalog under people for my mother, and I am certain that I did not create it. Sorry, but I am not at the computer where I have ACDSee installed so I don't recall the actual drop down selection name. To import I simply clicked on the import Picasa data selection in the menu. It seems that I have to manually correct a large percentage of what it suggests. In fact I am not overly impressed with the ACDSee facial recognition capabilities in comparison. I did and do use Picasa for facial recognition and find that it does a superior job. So Lightroom would have minimal information (If any for importing). I found ACDSee much more intuitive and did not want to spend much effort into a product that I did not see myself using as a base. #PICASA ALBUMS WINDOWS 8#If you use Picasa regularly for uploading and sharing photos, using Picasa for Windows 8 can make the process a little easier. In addition to ACDSee Ultimate 2021 and Picasa I also have Adobe Lightroom, but have not used it much. It also comes with a number of features that are more suited for touchscreen users than those who use traditional computers. #PICASA ALBUMS SOFTWARE#While you can rotate images or make other minor changes, if you want to crop photos or remove red eyes, you'll need to use a different type of software before uploading your images in this app. One flaw with this app is that it doesn't come with any editing tools. You can also zoom in and out, share photos, view the data relating to each image and view a list of your most recently added images and albums. All registered users can view images and leave behind comments. Picasa for Windows 8 includes an element of social networking too. You can use the left and right buttons to view the next or previous image in that album. ![]() #PICASA ALBUMS FULL#Double clicking on any album will bring up a full screen.
